The black sheep: China Boy

In 1950 where Chinese were coming to America when the reign of Mao and communism ruled. Kai and his family moved to San Francisco when he was young. Raised from an aristocrat father and a religious mother, Kai had trouble fitting into the new american lifestyle while kids made fun of him of his dialect and because of his background. His father loved the new life he had because he stood out more where in China there were so much traditions he felt more free and that america was young and diverse in cultures while his mom was still trying, like Kai to get custom to it. He felt as if no one liked him and that he should have never came to San Francisco. But for Kai his new journey only just started.
After the death of Kai's mother, Kai's dad married Edna who is caucasian and is very strict to Kai and his siblings into erasing every ounce of Chinese culture. He said " Edna was like nuclear fusion. awsome control, and no reasonable comprehension" [ Lee67].After being the punching bag of his community he met Toussaint; a kid like Kai who knows how to defend himself and its he who taught Kai how to fight. Hector seeing Kai box wants convince his father into letting him box at the Y. Uncle shim compared boxing to chinese philosophy because to bring your anger out to protect yourself. After a couple of fights and winning one of the most important fight against a bully. Kai still remorse the death of his mother and what she taught him before she died and to never settle for less in life and never to let Edna bully him ever again.

Quote

" I felt no shame in the tears. I needed to give something to shed something to balance the blood i had spilled, the karma of my water from his blood".

What Kai had been through from when he came from China from San Francisco was very tough. He lost his mother and been bullied ever since he came here. After winning and brutally beating up a bully in a fight he felt as if a heavy burden was been lifted up from his shoulders. The water of his karma and the blood he spilled represents that he actually goes back to genealogy about fighting to protect himself; even tho he has spilled blood he did it to protect himself.
